Emerald City

Some Quick pictures of the mani I did today using Seche Base and Revlon Emerald City Matte Suede with no top coat. First picture is in shade.

Last picture is in Sun. My right hand is not so pretty. The nail polish is fine but my nails are what people call down to the nubbins. I can't bring myself to cut my left fingernails down to match. The right hand is just going to have to catch up.

Giving my nails some breathing room. I had to do some serious chopping, repairs, stain removal and moisturizing after my last mani.  I moisturize constantly and have lotions all over the place even cuticle oil at my pc. Still my nails reach a certain length and all hell breaks out and they need extra love for a few days.

Lazy Weekend

Hubby took Friday off which we spent a large portion of at the vets. Pups are like kids if it isn't one thing it's another. Bailey was dragging her butt so we took her in. Good news no parasites bad news might have an infection so we need to watch her poop. Poor thing squealed like a pig when they drained her butt. She seems ok today.

Cigar anyone?
So we're just lazin around today and tomorrow. Our Daughter and Son In Law are coming over tomorrow for a visit. I am going to make a pot of chili so pumpkin if your reading this you guys can come over to eat if you want and that includes Falsur. Either way I am still cooking up a pot of chili always plenty for all.

Birthday Present

It wasn't nail polish it was something better. My wedding ring hasn't fit for awhile and I decided not to have it resized because I love the setting and did not want it weakened. Also I decided not to reset the diamonds because I love the setting. So my hubby brought me a new ring.

Sapphire White gold Marquis ring with diamonds. I love it.

I've been a little busy last few days so I did a rush mani. I wanted my nails to look good for my birthday. For some reason I chose to try the new Powder Puff by Revlon and it just looked horrible on my nails. But I didn't have enough time to redo them before my husband came home. So I quickly pulled out Nicole by OPI Wink of Twink and covered it. I was much happier though not thrilled. I am not posting the Powder Puff pictures because I  really hated the look. It was like I had the color of melted slushy vanilla ice cream on my nails. LOL the last picture I am sorry it is huge but i am leaving it as is. No idea how I managed that.

Bailey thinks I am nuts. I was trying to photo my nails and she was watching me closely. This is before clean up. The sun what little there is today is fading.

This is Sinful Colors Professional Fiji on top of Seche Base Coat with no top coat yet. These pictures do not capture the true color of this polish. I took about 30 pictures and I was not happy with them. Oh well at least I can log my thoughts about this color. This is a nice dark deep amethyst in low light to me. Rich in the light and matches a lot of my purple in my closet. My favorite color is green but I seem to own a lot of purple why is that? Anyway, I will probably reach for this polish again. Take note though the first coat is sheer but with the Seche base coat I only needed 2 coats to get the cover I wanted. And it is a little runny so I needed to be very careful applying this.

BM 14

Opse, I grabbed Nicole Pitch-Black Glimmer this morning when I meant to grab Nicole Such A Go-Glitter. So since I accidently put black glitter on my nails I figured lets have fun. When the black dried I went over it with the Blue then I stamped stars from BM 14 using Konad special silver polish and put another coat of Such A Go-Glitter by Nicole OPI over that. No top coat I wanted to see how this lasts. Turned out ok but I will be changing this soon.

Hot Topic Blue

I was up late as usual and decided to do my nails with the blue Hot topic polish I recently picked up. I wanted to get a pic taken though before I start my day in case this mani gets chipped or messed up. All my light bulbs are energy efficient and the lighting is low. I suppose I should buy a few brighter lights. Oh well... Anyways, I used Essie first base coat, two coats of Hot Topic Blue, (no name on bottle) and Seche Vite top coat. I really could have used only one coat this is very opaque only my inner me went for two. I like this color but I really hate the Hot Topic nail brush it was hard to hold and the polish drips off it like an eye dropper.

So as a gift to my daughter we went clothes shopping recently. She needed teaching clothes. While shopping we stopped in a Sephora store. I purchased my first glass nail file. I am in Love I tell you. Never again will I go back to any other nail file. If you do not have a glass nail file yet your missing out. I am getting one for the pups nails also.

Just read the news and want to say my heart and prayers are with the people in the San Francisco area.

Tossed cookies

Small post today. Gizmo is fine let me just say that right away. But he tossed his cookies on me yesterday. When we gave him his morning antibiotic it didn't sit well. My first thought that entered my head was omg I feel like i have a baby again. So cleaned him up then myself and shook my head. So we learned when the vet says give the antibiotic with food he needs more then just the snack we wrapped it in. He kept his second dose later on in the evening down.

Hot Topic Apple

Ok so I was talking with my daughter this last evening about what might be a good design for her nails that she could wear. And my thoughts are an apple. I wanted to do a red apple on a black background but she veto'd that idea. Black nails would not be good for a second grade teacher so I went with a white background. These pictures are taken at around 2:30 am with a flash because I am a night owl. Not bad considering this is my second time trying any freehand design and I know nothing about cameras. Sorry pictures are dark if this mani is still nice when I wake up I will try to take pic during the day. I just wanted to get some before I went to sleep. Never know what condition a mani will be in when you go to sleep right after.

I used Essie First Base as base coat, N.Y.C. Little Italy for white, Hot Topic glitter red no name on bottle for apple, Hot Topic green for leaf again no name on bottle, and Wet N Wild Craze Rustic for the stem.
It's 2:49 pm am adding this picture I took during the day.

And pictures for my other daughter as requested of Gizmo in his noobie booties. He is not a happy camper in these pictures.

Update Gizmo

SO turns out Gizmo had an allergic reaction to an insect bite or is allergic to his food. Since his ear is messed up the vet feels it was an insect. He doesn't have fleas they checked him closely so more then likely what ever it was bit him and jumped ship. He's on antibiotics, and childrens benadryl. To me he seems better already. We could not get him to the vet Sunday or Monday due to the holiday. So I bathed him in baking soda then 15 min just feet in epsom salts. Then I put bedadine on his paws and lightly wrapped the paws in gauze and put disposable booties on them so he could not lick or chew himself to pieces. And my hubby gave him benadryl which turns out was exactly the right thing to do for him. Now my nail polish and hands are a disaster from taking care of him but I am to tired to do anything about that. I am just happy Giz is ok .

Took Gizmo and Bailey for a walk Saturday and by Sunday evening poor Gizmo had some kind of reaction to something. Bailey is fine but Giz is going to the vet first thing his poor paws are sore. Since we took them over to the school field I am thinking it might have been something in the field. No time for nails been cuddling Giz all night. I think after the visit to the vet we will invest in dog booties.

Silver Lining

This polish has been reviewed even so I wanted to try it since the bottle caught my eye. Not opaque but very shiny. I was lining a sheet with foil today and this polish matched it. My one regret is that my nails are a little discolored under the polish and that can be seen in the photos but not in real life unless my hand is in your face heh. Time for a lemon treatment and lots of lotion and love. I use lotion all the time especially because of my age and wear and tear over the years on my hands. Also a base coat and still my nails discolor some. Oh well, sigh. Ok so this polish is Sally Hansen complete Salon Manicure in Silver Lining. I like it and my husband likes it. I would put this polish on for an evening out. Gizmo liked this polish also it is so shiny he chased my hands when I was petting him.
I love this picture of Gizmo this is his favorite toy at the moment. He drags it everywhere.
