Infant Cpr

Our daughter signed us up at the local hospital for infant CPR. classes. So we spent about 4 hours yesterday learning, practising and reviewing CPR and infant safety. I am glad we did it. Each couple received a practise baby to take home. I encourage everyone to sign up for CPR classes.

Baby Shower

The shower was a lot of fun :) and exhausting lol. Here's a picture of the diaper cake I did for my daughter. I used a round cake pan and a empty tp holder for shaping the wheels. Food was good, had two different crock pots of meatballs one with low sugar sauce, (Stubb's),  chili,  veggie tray, stuffed potato skins, pin wheel sandwiches, cupcakes, assorted candy, chips with rotel dip, mini sausages, coffee, tea, punch, water and I probably forgot something but it was all yummy. Games were fun my younger daughter did an awesome job planning the party and hosting. I just provided the house and clean up heh. The presents were all awesome. Pretty much have all the safety items we needed for the house along with many other cute clothes and gifts. Everyone brought cookie cutters for use with playdoh , baking or for cutting out sandwiches. This shower rocked I wish mine had been as much fun and am happy for my daughter and her husband.

Baby Shower Nail art

Decided to put the acrylic paint my hubby got me for Christmas to use. This is the design I have decided on for my daughters baby shower this Saturday.
started with Sephora Slushie
then used acrylic paint for design
topped it off with Seche but then found out my seche is to old so grabbed Sally Hansen fast dry base coat by mistake and grrr it has bubbles now. But nobody is really going to notice unless they have their nose right up to my nails heh.

This ikea bed/chair has been sitting around in our garage since we moved and I had no where to put it. Originally we bought it as an extra bed after we downsized and moved to an apartment for my daughter to use when she was home from college. But now we live in a house and have combined two households as my other daughter is living with us with her hubby and soon our first grandchild. Finding ways to maximise space and keep available items we might use again is always a win/win. So I saw on pinterest that many people are re purposing pallets and I thought wow we could do that with the ikea chair and still be able to use it as an extra chair or bed! So my hubby installed a track from rubbermaid with hooks and we bought some hooks from Walmart, still need to buy some more to add to this. And wallah a coat rack that can be adjusted at many levels so that when the time comes our grandchild can use it at his level. And if needed we can still unhook it toss a mattress on it as an extra bed for sleepovers.

Downstairs and outside are cleaned and back to normal. Christmas decorations are packed. Just need to take gel stickies and snow off upstairs windows. Even using gloves I broke a nail :( but it is what it is. Also son in law finished painting the babies room so I am going to vacuum and deep clean the rug.
Daughters baby shower is here on 19th so busy getting ready for that. My other daughter is throwing the party and I am helping her. Hosting it at our house since we have the most space.
Unfortunately my son in law and daughter have been extremely sick with nasty colds the last few days. It is hardest on my daughter since she is pregnant and avoiding all medications. Though if you were to look at my son in law you would think he was suffering the most. Rolls Eyes! My daughter is drinking lots of water and resting when she can but rest is already hard since she can't get comfy at all not even in the recliner. She is 7 or 8 months pregnant still not 100 percent sure of due date. The Dr says March but she looks like Feb to me. On top of the cold this last week she was diagnosed with gestational diabetes which runs on my side of the family so it's been a sucky week for her. On bright side we are all on board to support her and she has already reduced her sugar intake as much as possible and is following  a better diet. The diet change had immediate results. For the record I had already warned both my daughters that gestational diabetes was a possibility if they did not eat right. Bottom line it really wasn't anything she could control another one of those it is what it is. She and baby Logan will be fine. My husband controls his type 2 with diet so we already know what is needed. My husband went from a1c 8.4 to 6.2 in 3 months just with diet and exercise so the Dr decided he did not need to go on medication. My daughter meets with her Dr tomorrow and a nurse and also the Dr wants her to take a class to educate herself. So tomorrow we will find out if she will need medication. So far the Dr just has her monitoring her sugar with a glucose meter.
Anyways very busy here and probably won't have much down time to do nails for a bit.
